Impressions and Images: Paintings by Margaret Heughes
Bold strokes of color, subtle purple shadows, the beauty of a single iris. Welcome to Impressions and Images: Paintings by Margaret Heuges.
A painter from the age of four, Margaret studied at the Moore College of Art and Design and the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in painting.
Accomplished in all forms of two-dimensional art, she has taught pastels and drawing, created collages, and designed and constructed large mosaics for Eastern Orthodox churches in New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Margaret’s talents are showcased here in the exhibit’s plein air and still life paintings.
Margaret’s work hangs in both private and public collections. The Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington, DE, Arcadia College, Glenside, PA, Salisbury State University, Salisbury, MD, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA are but a few venues where her art can be found. In 1986, Margaret won the prestigious Judith Selkowitz Competition for a painting which now hangs in the corporate offices of the Insurance Company of North America, Philadelphia, PA.
Margaret’s images have been described as “honest” and “not superficial”, and the profound serenity she finds where land and water meet is evident in the paintings of Cape Island and the Delaware Bay on exhibit.
TreeHouse Antiques is proud to present this exhibit through October 1, 2010.
